Burst pipe water damage spreads fast through ceilings, walls and floors. RapidRestore24 cleans up burst pipe water damage across Marietta and metro Atlanta, and we answer our phone 24/7.

A burst pipe can release hundreds of gallons of water in an hour. A slow leak inside a wall can do as much damage over a few weeks. RapidRestore24 extracts the water, dries the structure and repairs the damage after burst pipes, leaking supply lines and failed fittings, across metro Atlanta.
First, stop the water
- Find your main shut-off valve and turn it off. In many Atlanta-area homes it is in the basement, crawl space, garage or near the water heater. Some are at the meter by the street.
- Open a faucet on the lowest floor to drain the pressure.
- If water is near outlets, appliances or the electrical panel, turn off power to that area only if you can do it safely.
- Take photos of the leak and the damage before cleanup.
You will need a plumber to fix the pipe itself. We take care of everything the water damaged.
Why burst pipes cause more damage than it looks
Water from a pipe is under pressure and spreads fast. It runs under flooring, down inside walls and into the floor below. Drywall and insulation hold water, and subfloors trap it. If those materials are not dried properly, you get swelling, delamination and mold weeks later. That is why we measure moisture instead of judging by what looks dry.
How we handle a burst pipe
Extraction. Standing water is removed from floors, carpet and pad.
Moisture mapping. Moisture meters and thermal imaging show where the water went, including inside walls and ceilings below.
Controlled demolition. Only what cannot be dried in place, such as soaked drywall at the bottom of a wall or saturated pad, is removed.
Structural drying. Air movers and dehumidifiers run until readings confirm the structure is dry.
Repairs. Drywall, paint, trim and flooring are put back so the room is finished.
Frozen pipes
Metro Atlanta does not get long freezes, which is exactly why pipes are often not protected. During a hard freeze, pipes in exterior walls, attics, crawl spaces and garages are most at risk. The leak often shows up when the pipe thaws. Keep cabinet doors open on exterior walls and let a faucet drip during a freeze.
Insurance
Sudden pipe bursts are often covered by homeowners insurance, while long-term leaks may not be. We document the damage and the drying with photos and readings to support your claim. See also our main water damage restoration page.

Limiting burst pipe water damage before we arrive
Shut off the main water valve and, if water is near outlets, the power to that area. Cobb County Water System customers can find leak and service information on the county site (Cobb County Water System). After the pipe is fixed, burst pipe water damage needs full drying, as described on our water damage remediation page and our drying timeline. Wet areas left too long can need mold remediation.
