RapidRestore24 is a water, fire and mold damage restoration company based in Marietta, Georgia. We work across metro Atlanta, roughly a thirty-mile radius of our 30067 base — Cobb, Fulton, DeKalb and Cherokee counties. We also cover the closer parts of Douglas, Paulding and Gwinnett.

Why the drive matters more in restoration than in most trades

For most contractors, distance is a scheduling problem. In water damage it is part of the damage itself.

A clean-water loss — a supply line, a water heater, an overflowed fixture — starts out as what the industry calls Category 1. Left sitting, it does not stay that way. Water wicks into drywall, insulation, subfloor and framing, picks up contaminants as it goes, and in Georgia’s humidity the window before mold growth becomes a realistic concern is commonly measured in the range of 24 to 72 hours, not weeks. A loss that would have been an extraction and drying job on day one becomes a demolition job by day four.

The clock does not start when you call your insurer. It starts when the water starts, and it stops when air movers and dehumidifiers are actually running in the building. Everything in between — travel, assessment, moving equipment in — is time the structure spends getting wetter. That is the whole argument for using someone close to you rather than a national call centre that dispatches whoever is available two counties over.

Metro Atlanta is not one restoration market

Houses fail differently in different parts of this metro. The crew that shows up should already know which failure they are looking at.

Cobb, Cherokee and the north-west

Basement country. Ground slopes, houses are built into it. A large share of the stock from the 1970s onward has a finished or partly finished lower level. That single fact changes a water loss from an extraction into a series of decisions about what comes out and what can be dried in place. Add mature hardwood canopy, an active severe-thunderstorm corridor. A network of creeks — Sope, Rottenwood, Nickajack, Noonday — that rise fast in summer downpours.

Intown Atlanta and DeKalb

The oldest housing in the region: 1910s to 1940s bungalows and foursquares, built over vented crawlspaces rather than slabs, with plumbing that has been at the end of its service life for a while. Crawlspaces are the reason intown water losses so often surface months later as a mold problem. Sewer infrastructure of the same vintage adds a category of loss that has to be handled differently from clean water.

North Fulton

Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Roswell and the newer Milton subdivisions: largely 1990s through 2000s construction. A characteristic failure mode that goes with it. Second-floor laundry rooms, water heaters in upstairs closets and attic platforms, and supply lines running above finished ceilings. When one of those lets go, gravity takes the water through every floor of the house on its way down.

South metro

Clayton, south Fulton and the Douglasville corridor are mostly slab-on-grade. No basement to flood, but water spreads laterally across a large footprint instead of draining, gets under flooring and into wall cavities at the base plate, and is easy to under-scope because there is less of it visible.

What we do, wherever the job is

  • Water damage restoration — extraction, moisture mapping, structural drying, monitoring to a documented dry standard
  • Fire and smoke damage restoration — soot and odour, contents, and the water damage the fire service leaves behind
  • Mold remediation — containment, removal, and finding the moisture source that caused it

Found water? Call before you call anyone else

The most useful thing you can do in the first hour is stop the source and get drying equipment moving. Photograph everything before you move it, and do not throw anything away until it has been documented. Your insurer will want to see it, and so will we.
