Mold remediation starts with finding the moisture that feeds the mold. RapidRestore24 handles mold remediation for homes and businesses in Marietta and metro Atlanta. A licensed mold assessor we work with does the inspection and testing.

A licensed mold assessor we work with carries out mold inspections and testing. However, our own crews do the remediation itself.
Mold needs only moisture and time. After a leak or flood, it can start growing within 24 to 48 hours, often out of sight inside walls, under flooring or in crawl spaces. Left alone it spreads, damages materials and can aggravate allergies and breathing problems. RapidRestore24 removes mold properly and fixes the moisture problem that caused it, for homes and businesses across metro Atlanta.
Signs you may have a mold problem
- A musty, earthy smell, especially in basements, crawl spaces or closets
- Spots or staining on walls, ceilings, grout or around windows
- Peeling paint, bubbling drywall or warped floors
- A past leak or flood that was not fully dried
- Allergy-like symptoms that ease when you leave the house
How mold remediation works
1. Inspection and testing. A licensed mold assessor inspects the property and, where needed, takes samples to confirm what is there and how far it has spread.
2. Find and fix the moisture. Mold always comes back unless someone fixes the water source. We track down the leak, condensation or drainage problem behind it.
3. Contain the area. First, we seal off work areas with containment barriers. Then we keep them under negative air pressure, so spores do not spread to the rest of the building during removal.
4. Remove and clean. Next, we remove and bag materials we cannot clean, such as moldy drywall and insulation. After that, we clean salvageable surfaces and filter the air with HEPA equipment.
5. Dry and rebuild. Finally, we dry the area to normal moisture levels and then repair it with new drywall, paint and finishes.
Do not just bleach it
Spraying bleach on mold may lighten the stain. But it does not reach mold growing inside porous materials like drywall and wood, and disturbing mold can release spores into the air. For anything larger than a small patch, or any mold after water damage, get an assessment.
Mold after water damage
Most mold problems start with water damage that was not dried properly. If you have had a leak or flood, our water damage restoration service dries the structure to a measured standard to stop mold before it starts.

How mold remediation fits with water damage
The EPA says the key to mold control is moisture control. It also says an experienced contractor should handle larger mold problems (EPA mold cleanup advice). That is why our mold remediation work is paired with water damage remediation and leak fixes. Common sources we see are burst pipes and storm leaks. Contact us to set up an assessment.
